How To Care For Your Skin Post Clinical Peel

If you’re a regular to clinical peels- you’ll know that tight, dry feeling and perhaps some flakiness, these side effects are common and can be reduced.

See our tips below on caring for your sensitive post-peel skin & say hello to glow sooner!

  1. Cleanse your skin gently for the next 5-7 days, your skin is at it’s most fragile. Use cool water only as hot water will cause inflammation. Use your fingertips to cleanse as facecloths can be abrasive and irritate skin further. We recommend RATIONALE #5 The Cleanser.

  2. Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. Letting skin become dry can cause discomfort. If peeling occurs, use a hydrating moisturiser to aid in the healing process & reduce irritation. Our go-to for intense moisture is the Dermaceutic Hyal Ceutic Intense Hydration Cream which helps calm and protect.

  3. Sunscreen AKA your new best friend. Intense heat and sun exposure can cause inflammation to the skin, so slip, slop, slap and avoid direct sunlight. Re-apply throughout the day if necessary and opt for SPF50+. We love Dermaceutic K Ceutic SPF50+ with high protection and restorative properties.
