Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, can be problematic for some people. Areas of concern can include the armpits (axillae), face, groin, and under the breasts.
When conventional antiperspirants and methods are ineffective for sweating, alternative treatment options may be necessary. For people concerned with excessive sweating it is advised to seek medical assessment.
Our Dermatologist, Dr Alice Rudd, can help you determine the best treatment plan and options that may include medication, injections or surgery.
Anti-wrinkle injections are a safe and effective treatment for hyperhidrosis, and patients receiving underarm treatment may be eligible for a Medicare rebate.
This treatment also works well for facial sweating although these areas are not currently covered by Medicare.
