What It Means To Be A Member Of AMET (Aesthetics Medical Emergency Team)
“Complication prevention & management is by far the greatest unmet need in global aesthetics.” - AMET
Our resident registered nurse, Brooke Iriks is a proud member of AMET, which is the first medical emergency team founded within Australia. Their aim is to build a safer industry within Australia in the realm of cosmetics & aesthetics. Below we share more about what they do and why it’s imperative within our industry.
What Is AMET’s Vision?
AMET’s vision is to foster a safer industry and enhance patient outcomes by empowering, supporting, and connecting all aesthetic practitioners. Their aim is to create a unified, recognised, and regulated medical aesthetic industry that focuses on delivering evidence-based, safe, and natural-looking aesthetic treatments for patients.
Did you know complication prevention & management is by far the greatest unmet need in global aesthetics? Many complications that arise in aesthetics are avoidable, however even the most experience of aesthetic health care practitioners will still encounter adverse events. As a practitioner, we can control how we administer treatments, but can’t control what happens next. However, by carefully and promptly managing these unexpected adverse events, outcomes for patients can be greatly improved.
AMET believe nobody should feel unsupported in any area of aesthetic medicine. Even with appropriate training for complications, by nature they are rare. This means many injectors cannot apply the information they have learnt, leaving them feeling vulnerable and unsupported.
It’s out of this gap, that AMET was born. Providing accessible, evidence based safety information on aesthetic injectables and skin treatments.
Our Commitment
We are beyond proud to have Brooke as an awarded AMET member, which recognises Brooke’s commitment to continued patient safety and her role in joining the world’s first aesthetic medical emergency team.
